GARY ANDERSON dubbed Beau Greaves as the “woman Luke Littler” after keeping his Grand Slam title hopes alive.

The Flying Scotsman came from 2-0 down to beat Greaves 5-4 in a deciding leg thriller in Wolverhampton last night.

Ando, 54, had to use all his experience to get over the line in an ultra-tight encounter.

He said: “She’s brilliant, she’s going to cause a hell of a stir. I was watching her last night on the practice board and it was 140, ton 80, ton 140, ton 80.

“She’s got some talent, best woman player by far, by miles. I think she’s the woman Luke Littler. If they were playing pairs, I don’t think there would be anyone who could beat them to be honest.”

Anderson has never failed to get out of the group stages in his 18 appearances in the Slam.

But his bid to finally win his favourite tournament looked in tatters as Greaves won the opening two legs with double 16.

However, Ando soon kicked into gear. He hit a double 18 and double 12 to break back and level the match up.

He took the lead for the first time with double 16 but Greaves was far from finished. She hit back with double six and Anderson had to dig in to take the lead again.

Doncaster darter Greaves forced the match to a decider with double 16.

But the Scot saved his best finish to kill the clash with a 103 and double 16 checkout.
