BRAY INVITES ENGLAND FOOTBALL STARS TO WATCH LITTLER AND HUMPHRIES IN NEW YORK

RUSS BRAY has invited Thomas Tuchel’s England stars to take in the US Darts Masters in New York before Saturday’s clash with Panama.
The legendary referee has thrown open the doors of Madison Square Garden to Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham and the rest of the Three Lions squad ahead of the two-day US Darts Masters on Thursday and Friday.
World No1 Luke Littler and former world champ Luke Humphries, fresh from England’s World Cup of Darts triumph in Germany last weekend, headline the tournament in the Big Apple.
The lethal Lukes will then have a rare day off on Saturday and are expected to attend England’s final group-stage match against Panama at MetLife Stadium in neighbouring New Jersey.
Bray hopes some of England’s footballers might fancy a trip to the darts beforehand.
He told SunSport: “Harry [Kane] and Jude [Bellingham] – Come and see us!
“I mean everyone’s welcome, certainly all the football boys. Come down and see us.”
Eight stars from Europe will face eight leading players from the United States and Canada, with £30,000 on offer for the winner of the competition.
Cool Hand won the trophy last year after beating Nathan Aspinall 8-6 in the final.
Bray believes the event is set for one of its best atmospheres yet, with a sell-out crowd expected at the iconic venue.
He added: “It’s gone into the main theatre now.
“A big sell-out as well. And New York’s a wonderful place.
“It’s going to be good this year.
“It’ll be different that’s for sure because you’ve got the World Cup as well.
“I’m sure a lot of the expats that are out there, who are not fond of the football, might go: ‘I’ll have some on the darts.’
“And that will make a heck of a difference.”
