SEBASTIAN BIALECKI clinched a maiden PDC senior title after beating Niels Zonneveld 8-6 to win the Players Championship 22.

World No. 98 Bialecki fought back from 6-4 down to secure victory against the Dutchman.

Former UK Open quarter-finalist Bialecki reeled in consecutive 15-darters to level the bout 6-6 in Hildesheim.

‘The Bolt’ nailed a clinical 81 checkout to take a 7-6 lead and then sealed the deal by pearling in tops.

Bialecki admitted he was delighted to pick up a first ProTour crown and hopes he has done enough to qualify for the World Championships.

He said: “I am over the moon now. In this tournament today my doubles were probably the reason for my success.

“The game with Cameron Menzies in the last 16 was the most important for me today because I have lost at this stage five times.

“The minimal target for me today was to reach the quarter-final and then to just enjoy myself from then on.

“The most important target for me is to qualify from the ProTour for the World Championship.”

Bialecki fired in three ton-plus checkouts, including a stunning 161 finish, to beat Danny Noppert 7-5 in the semi-final.

Polish thrower Bialecki averaged 101 to triumph 6-4 against Gian van Veen in the last eight.

The 21-year-old smashed in a 102 average to overcome Cameron Menzies 6-4 in the last 16.
