BUNTING: THERE ARE BETTER PLAYERS THAN ME

STEPHEN BUNTING admits there are “a lot better players” in the sport despite his dominant display in Krakow.
‘The Bullet’ stormed into the quarter-finals of the Poland Darts Masters with a ruthless 6-1 demolition of Jermaine Wattimena.
World No.7 Bunting averaged a superb 100.09 and nailed 50 per cent of his doubles in a clinical showing that sets up a blockbuster clash with Luke Humphries next.
But Bunting insists he knows exactly where he stands in the pecking order and says consistency on the day is everything.
He said: “I didn’t feel as good as I did in the practice room yesterday, but when you come out in front of this crowd and they get behind me again.
“This is the reason why we come over to your country. Your support got me through that match again.
“I’ve learned in the Premier League over the last two years that, as good as I think I am, there’s a lot better players in this sport than I am.
“As long as I can keep entertaining, I believe I have got the game to beat anybody, but everything needs to be right on the day.
“If it is not, I’ll lose, and if it is, I’ll win. So hopefully tonight I can come back and be a few hours rested.
“I will watch Liverpool win, hopefully, and come back to attack this final.”
The St Helens ace has enjoyed a bright start to the ProTour campaign, highlighted by a run to the final of Players Championship Three.
Bunting is desperate to translate that form onto the Premier League stage, where he is still searching for his first win after three weeks of action.
