DAVE CHISNALL finally ended his TEN-MONTH losing jinx on TV but still went out of the Grand Slam.

The St.Helens ace beat Stowe Buntz 5-4 yet it was already eliminated at the group stages in Wolverhampton.

Chizzy hadn’t won on TV since beating Ryan Searle at the Cazoo Masters on January 27.

He admitted: “I’m very disappointed. I played well in my first game. I didn’t play well tonight but I got the win.

“That’s darts we move on. Just get ready now for the Players Championship and World Championship.

“Some of the games I’ve played on TV haven’t been that bad but I’ve had no luck.

“I’ll put it behind me. I’m not one of these sore losers. Now I’ve finally won a game on TV I’m happy.

“I know I haven’t won on TV since February. It was very important. I wanted to get that W. I need it for my own confidence.

“I’ll get back, I’m very confident in my own ability.”

A sluggish Michael van Gerwen, with his knockout stage place already assured, scraped past fellow countryman Martijn Kleermaker 5-4. Nathan Aspinall also lost 5-4 to Ricardo Pietreczko but is also in the last 16 on Thursday night.

UK Open Champion Andrew Gilding beat Haruki Muramatsu 5-1 to also progress.
