FALLON IS KIT FOR A FUTURE KING!

FALLON SHERROCK admits that her partner Cammy Menzies wanted her to talk about Rangers to Prince William!

The Queen of the Palace faces Michael van Gerwen in the biggest clash of the opening day of the Grand Slam in Wolverhampton on Saturday.

But Sherrock, 29, revealed that her darts ace other half Menzies wanted her to mention the Gers to Prince William when she received her MBE a fortnight ago.

She said: “He said to me, ‘did you not mention Rangers?’ Oh, yeah, I gave him your car key. He has a Rangers key ring.

“He was like: ‘Oh, cheers mad’. I was like, obviously I didn’t. But he found that funny.

“To be fair, I was going to take Cammy but he was at a ProTour and he was trying to get in and keep his top-64 space. Fair enough. I got to meet the future King!”

Sherrock is also expecting her Ayrshire darting other half Menzies to get her a Rangers kit for Christmas.

She added: “I am still waiting for my Christmas present yet. I wouldn’t put it past him if he buys me a football shirt.

“I already have two that he has got me. I have got a blue one. I think I have got an orange one. They are mostly his that he can’t fit into anymore.

“So, I wear them sometimes when he’s sleeping. Or when the football is on. It’s sometimes I think I will join in with him and his friends. I don’t really watch football so sometimes, I will say, oh right, that’s offside, I am guessing what it is…”

Sherrock remains the biggest talking point of the sport but became only the fourth oche ace to get a gong after going to Windsor Castle.

She added: “Yeah, that was really cool. But I have never been so nervous in my life. I was like, don’t fall over, I am actually speechless because I didn’t know what to say to him.

“He’s going, I have seen darts broadcast. My reaction to that was: Oh, you have seen it on TV? He started laughing at me, yes, the television. I was like, oh my god. One of the things I didn’t want to say and I said it. I was like: You did embarrass yourself.”

“It makes me very like proud and honoured to be part of the people I darts that have the MBE. Not a lot of people have got it.”

Sherrock has been drawn a tough opening group with Van Gerwen, Rob Cross and Martijn Kleermaker in Wolverhampton.

She added: “Every time I play Michael, it is always a good game. Whether it is an exhibition or on stage or anything like that.

“I am really excited to get up there and play my game and he plays his game and just have a good game and see what the outcome can be.

I want the best players because you are only going to get better by playing the better players. And that’s when your real good game will come out.

“Because that’s when you are put under pressure. That’s when you cannot afford to make mistakes, that is when your best game comes out.

“I am more than happy to be put up against these really good players, the best players in the world, because then I can see where I am in my game as well.”
