Gary Anderson: Luke Humphries’ recent accolades ‘gets overlooked every time’

Gary Anderson produced a fiery rant supporting the reigning PDC world champion, Luke Humphries, believing he “gets overlooked every time.”
The Scotsman stated that his achievements in the last two years have gone under the radar, and he criticised the media for not giving Humphries the attention he deserves.
In the past 12 months, Humphries has won the Grand Prix, Grand Slam, Players Championship Finals, World Championship, and World Matchplay.
The Newbury-born star also reached the final of the UK Open and Premier League this year, with the latter in his debut appearance.
“It’s not just being world champion. What has Luke [Humphries] won in the last two years?
“This is the thing. He has won just about everything. He’s not just world champion. He’s there for a reason. World champion was added onto his CV.
“He’s won so much more, and the boy gets looked over every time, which I think is a load of b****cks to be honest.
“He’s deserved everything that he’s worked for, everything that he’s got. And just to talk about other players, rubbish, absolute rubbish.
“Just give him a bit of respect. He’s never ever mentioned, it’s always other people.”
Anderson praised Humphries’ handling of the media since his rise to the pinnacle of the sport.
“He’s deserved everything that he’s worked for, everything that he’s got. And just to talk about other players, rubbish, absolute rubbish. Just give him a bit of respect. He’s never ever mentioned, it’s always other people.”
Anderson also praised Humphries for his humility, commending the way he’s handled the lack of attention. However, he hinted that deep down, it must be frustrating.
“Luke [Humphries] just goes along with it. As long as they’re talking about other people, he just carries on what he does. He’s handled it well. But deep down, he must be a bit cheesed off it.”
“No, he just does what he does. He plays darts, runs, and that’s it.”
