LUKE LITTLER admitted he was “proud” after receiving his MBE from William, Prince of Wales at Windsor Castle.

The teenage darts superstar was honoured for services to the sport following his incredible rise from schoolboy sensation to global icon.

The Nuke became the youngest World Champion in history after lifting the Sid Waddell Trophy aged just 17 years and 347 days.

Littler is widely credited with transforming the popularity of darts by attracting huge new audiences and inspiring a fresh generation of youngsters to throw at the oche.

When his MBE was announced last year Littler said: “This is an amazing and unexpected honour but one which I am very grateful for.

“To receive a recognition like this is something I had never thought would be possible and it is a proud moment.

“It’s unbelievable what I’ve done for my sport. I’m happy, my family is happy and I can’t wait to receive it.”

The world No1 was among a host of stars honoured at Windsor Castle alongside Cynthia Erivo, Matt Lucas, Ella Toone and Sadia Kabeya.

Littler has dominated since reaching the final at Alexandra Palace as a 16-year-old in 2024, going on to lift 12 major trophies in that time and moving up to third on the all-time list, behind only Michael van Gerwen and Phil Taylor.

The Warrington ace now turns his focus back to the Premier League where he is favourite to win back the title.

Littler heads to Finals Night at The O2 on May 28 after finishing top of the league table with SIX Nightly wins.
