LUKE LITTLER has tipped Scottish wonderkid Mitchell Lawrie as the next star destined for the top of darts.
The World No. 1 was put through a series of quick-fire questions and had no hesitation when asked which young talent could follow in his footsteps.
Wee Sox is currently on a remarkable 36-match winning streak on the JDC Advanced Tour and reached the WDF World Championship final at just 15-years-old.
Littler believes Lawrie, who is only four years his junior, has the potential to become one of his biggest rivals in the future.
He told The Athletic: “There is honestly so many, but I would have to say the Scottish boy, Mitchell Lawrie.”
Asked which retired player he would have loved to play against, Littler’s answer was immediate: “Phil Taylor.”
Littler revealed Stephen Bunting is his closest friend in darts, with the duo also co-owning a racehorse.
When quizzed on which walk-on song annoys him the most, Littler admitted Bunting’s famous entrance music always gets a reaction from the players.
He said: “It doesn’t annoy me but it is funny. Stephen Bunting’s Titanium. We all buzz off it.”
On the subject of being stuck in a lift with a fellow player, Littler chose one of darts’ biggest personalities.
He said: “Nathan Aspinall, why not?”
The 13-time major winner also revealed his favourite venue on the PDC circuit and the one change he would make to the Premier League format.
He continued: “I would say Manchester in the Premier League.
“Get another two players in, make it ten.”
