NOPPERT LEFT FRUSTRATED BY “STICKY FINGERS” AT SLOVAK OPEN

DANNY NOPPERT was left frustrated by having “STICKY FINGERS” at the inaugural Slovak Open.
The Dutchman overcame Madars Razma 6-2 in the second round despite averaging just 81.45 in one of the lowest-quality matches of the weekend.
World No10 Noppert eventually bowed out in the last 16 after being edged out 6-5 by compatriot Jermaine Wattimena in a deciding leg.
But The Freeze insisted the hot conditions were causing him problems from the moment he stepped onto the stage against Razma.
Speaking after the win, he said: “Of course I am happy with the performance I won. That is the most important thing.
“I had sticky fingers from the beginning and I didn’t know how to deal with it.
“I tried to dry them on my shirt. I don’t know. It is hot over here but I won.
“It is not nice the way it goes now.
“Both of us performed under the level we can show of course.
“This is the way it is. We have to deal with the weather.
“I don’t know what I have to do tomorrow.
“It is the same weather. Hopefully not the same problems. But I don’t know what to do.
“Maybe some people have some tips to send over to me.”
Noppert has otherwise enjoyed another solid campaign on the PDC circuit.
The 35-year-old reached the final of the German Darts Grand Prix earlier this year and also produced back-to-back quarter-final runs at the World Masters and UK Open.
