GERWYN PRICE won the Baltic Sea Open and reckons losing his luggage has been a good omen!

The World No.9 beat Gary Anderson 8-3 in the final in Kiel, Germany to wrap up his first Euro title in two years.

It was a second title in a week for Price, after taking the Poland Darts Masters last Sunday. He lost his case in that trip and now reckons it has brought him luck!

After picking up the trophy and £30k, he said: “I’m glad I lost my case last week. New darts, new shoes, new beginnings!

“I’m chuffed. I think I played pretty decent all weekend. The crowd were fantastic with me which really helps.

“I needed some ranking points leading up to the back end of the year and £30,000 ranking points really helps.

“Gary is way better than he played in the final. I can play a bit better as well.

“I haven’t won here for two years, I can’t put into words, I’m chuffed.”

Anderson hit a wonderful 125 with two bulls in the final but couldn’t find the consistency to outgun the Welshman.

He added: “To get to the final in any tournament is great. To come to Germany and get to another final. I’ll pat myself on the back.

“Gezzy played well the whole tournament. His name was on the cup which it was. He’s been one of the top players for the last six or seven years.”
