ROCK BACKS LAWRIE FOR PDC TOUR CARD

JOSH ROCK admits he “loves” Mitchell Lawrie and has backed the Scot to secure a PDC Tour Card.
AT just 15 years and 110 days old, Lawrie became the WDF world No.1, racking up 756 ranking points to leapfrog his rivals and underline his huge potential.
‘Wee Sox’ has claimed an incredible SIX senior titles in just six months on the circuit, underlining his remarkable dominance at the oche.
Rock revealed he has taken Lawrie under his wing and believes the sky is the limit.
He said: “I’m very friendly with him, obviously for a young kid he is also one of the Target players so that helps too.
“I love his family to bits and they love me. He is a great kid to be around.
“He is in the WDF at the minute and he is just taking everything and that will give him confidence when it comes to coming to Q-School in January.”
The Renfew thrower has already shown he belongs on the big stage after reaching the WDF World Championship final at Lakeside in December.
Lawrie lifted the World Youth title on the same day and pocketed a whopping £19,000 for his efforts overall.
His latest triumph came at last week’s Scottish Open Classic, where he produced a superb 95.36 average to storm to a commanding 5–1 victory over James Beeton in the final.
