LUKE LITTLER may count Wayne Rooney’s nine-year-old son as a rival soon.

Rooney’s third-eldest child, kit, recently celebrated his ninth birthday with a darts-themed party in January.

The youngster’s obsession with the arrows comes after he met Littler at Ally Pally following his maiden World Championship triumph.

Five-time major winner Littler even signed Kit’s replica ‘Luke The Nuke’ shirts.

But Kit may have his own branded shirts in a matter of years as Coleen Rooney revealed in an interview with The Sun how the nine-year-old has ‘retired’ from football to pursue darts.

If Kit’s breakfast is anything to go by, he’s certainly on the right path for a career tossing the tungsten.

She said: “The third one has steak for breakfast, this is the darts one, he wants to become a darts player at the minute.

“Sometimes he’ll have a fried egg with it, but mostly it’s just a steak – he’ll just have that.”

Coleen added: “Kai, he’s 15, and Klay, who’s going to be 12 in May, they’re both at the academy at Manchester United, they’ve been there for quite a few years now.

“The youngest, he goes in at Everton, he’s just turned seven, but he absolutely loves it, and the third one, he’s retired. He’s retired a few times.”

In the interview, Coleen also revealed Kit is constantly throwing tungsten on the family dart board inside their Cheshire property.

Should Kit continue his love for darts, time is certainly on his side to eclipse Littler’s record as the youngest world champion.

Teen sensation Littler rewrote the history books at the Alexandre Palace in January as he was just 17 when he beat Michael van Gerwen.

It was MVG who previously held the record given was 24 when he claimed his first world title in 2014.

Littler was one win away from picking up his third Premier League victory on night six but was beaten 6-3 by Gerwyn Price in the final.
