MICHAEL van Gerwen said he played “terrible” and it was “not acceptable”.

The three-times World Champ crashed to a 6-3 defeat by Luke Littler in the Dutch Masters in Den Bosch.

MVG started slowly as the teen sensation roared into a 3-0 lead.

However, just like the previous night, The Nuke had a mid-match slump and Van Gerwen came back to level it up.

But after that it was comfortable match for Littler as he won the next three legs in third gear to reach the semi-finals.

MVG said: “I played terrible tonight, this performance was not acceptable. “I was really focused all day and wanted to win this trophy so much.

“No matter how hard I tried I just couldn’t get them when I wanted them. “I was lucky to be 3-3, it could have been 6-0.”
