PRICE REIGNS SUPREME WITH POLAND DARTS MASTERS TRIUMPH

GERWYN PRICE claimed his SIXTH World Series title after beating Stephen Bunting 8-7 in the final of the Poland Darts Masters.

‘The Iceman’ adds the crown to his trio of ProTour titles to continue a superb 2025 campaign.

World No. 11 Price fired in a spectacular 137 checkout to level the bout 2-2 at the PreZero Arena.

Former Masters champ Bunting pinged in a 96 finish and then pearled in a 15-darter to gain a 4-2 advantage in Gliwice.

Seven-time major winner Price fought his way back with two legs on the spin to square the tie at 4-4.

‘The Bullet’ then found himself 7-6 down and looked to have missed the opportunity to keep his chances alive when he missed three darts at double 12 but he eventually pinned a double three after Price missed three match darts.

Markham thrower Price strayed into the single 17 with 91 left but hit a stunning double-double finish on 34 and 40 to secure victory.

Price admitted he had to dig deep and grind out the win after trailing in the early parts of the match.

He said: “I felt like I kept missing opportunities and missing doubles.

“Stephen was taking out doubles with his last dart and it was frustrating myself.

“To go into the break 4-2 down I was disappointed in myself.

“But I stuck in there till the end and the crowd were fantastic.

“I’m not saying they got me though the game, but they helped.

“To go in and fire the winning leg on two doubles when I couldn’t hit one all night was fantastic, so I am over the moon.”

Former world champion Price also revealed how a lost suitcase could be his new lucky omen.

He added: “A couple of years ago in 2018 I went to Ireland I lost my case.

“I had to change my darts and my clothes alongside my shoes.

“Then I went on to win the Grand Slam and the rest is history.

“I’ve lost my case this weekend — new darts, new shoes, new clothes, new me — so here we go!”

The 40-year-old hit a stellar 100.68 average to overcome Rob Cross 7-3 in the semi-final.

Price dispatched Chris Dobey 6-2 in the quarter-final with a magnificent 104.29 average and four maximums.
