DARTS ACE BELIEVES DE DECKER HAS BEEN UNDERWHELMING

LEGEND Colin Lloyd believes Mike De Decker has been “underwhelming” since his World Grand Prix success.
World No. 21 De Decker shocked the darting world with a sensational run to his first major title last year — but hasn’t won a match in a televised ranking event in 2025.
‘The Real Deal’ couldn’t inspire Belgium past the group stage on his World Cup debut as they squandered a 3-0 lead to lose 4-3 to the Philippines.
While De Decker did reach his maiden Euro Tour final at the Belgian Darts Open earlier this year, his overall campaign has lacked consistency.
Former World No.1 Lloyd admits the 29-year-old has undeniable talent — but says his form has failed to live up to the promise of his breakthrough triumph.
He said: “He has not pushed on.
“He won that World Grand Prix playing and throwing some sensational stuff.
“You just thought to yourself right he’s finally breaking through now.
“He gets crowned the World Grand Prix champion and boom!
“It’s just stopped again.
“He hasn’t pushed on as a major winner and he hasn’t stamped any authority that you thought he would do.
“He is more than capable of doing it because he is a class player.
“We don’t know what happens behind the scenes perhaps something has been going on.
“He is still a young man that has plenty of time.
“Hopefully he can reset, recharge and start going again.
“It’s a little bit underwhelming but he has plenty of career left in him.”
