The PDC Development Tour kicked off its new season this weekend in Milton Keynes – and it was history making!
Beau Greaves continued her blistering start to 2025 by picking up two of the four titles she competed for, on Friday and Saturday.
Friday night saw her overcome Dutchman, Levy Frauenfelder, by a 5-3 scoreline in the Event Two final. 24 hours later, it was glory for Greaves once again, this time beating James Beeton 5-2 to claim the Event Four title.
On Friday afternoon, it was success for the latest Pole on the professional circuit, Sebastian Bialecki. ‘Bolt’ beat fellow tour card holder, Owen Bates, 5-2 in a closely contested final.
However, a day later, Bates came through a tough run of matches to take the Event Three title, ousting Huddersfield teenager, Charlie Manby, in the final.
Despite missing out on glory earlier in the day, it was Manby who went on to write the biggest headline of the weekend.
The 19 year-old produced an astonishing average of 130.70 in his Last 64 tie versus Patrik Williams and, in doing so, crushed the record for the highest-ever recorded average at a PDC event.
A story like this epitomises the purpose of the Development Tour, unearthing the next generation of darting talent.
Sunday saw just the single event to complete an action-packed weekend. 2021 JDC World Champion, Bradly Roes, prevailed in the Event Five final, overcoming Lincolnshire’s Oliver Pearce-Burgess 5-2.
Following the weekend’s five events, all showcasing a huge array of talent, Beau Greaves sits on top of the Order of Merit, followed by the likes of Owen Bates, Sebastian Bialecki, Bradly Roes, Charlie Manby, Cam Crabtree, James Beeton and Danny Jansen, who make up the top eight.
The Development Tour season continues in Leicester on 28-30 March.
