GINGE REVEALS LITTLER STRUGGLED WITH EARLY FAME

LUKE LITTLER’S pal Angry Ginge revealed the teen star was once nervous and found the spotlight tough after his breakthrough.
‘The Nuke’ reached the World Championship final on debut at just 16 in 2024 before losing to Luke Humphries.
World No.1 Littler has dominated the sport since, winning back-to-back Sid Waddell Trophies along with a further TEN major titles.
But with success on the big stage, Littler was thrust into fame and attracted huge media attention.
Littler is now a confident talker, but his best friend Ginge admits he used to get anxious.
He told the Double Tops podcast: “It’s just Luke. He’s just brilliant.
“And obviously, you would have known from the first podcast you had him on.
“He struggled at first speaking on camera and stuff like that. You can tell he’s a bit nervous.
“His first time ever doing it.
“Obviously he’s got so much better now. He’s done that much media. You’d expect it.”
The King of the Jungle revealed the perks of being close to the Warrington whizkid.
He joked: “I’d say free darts, but the b****** still makes me pay.”
Ginge, who has supported Littler at Ally Pally over the past two seasons, revealed he is keen to take on Q-School for the experience.
He continued: “If I’m not busy, yeah, 100 percent. I mean, I’m not saying I’m going to win because I know full well I’m not going to win, but I should do it for the experience.
“I actually said it on Twitch. It was just a throwaway comment. I was just playing darts on Twitch on my stream, and I just went, oh, I might go to Q School.
“Because I think I was averaging, which again is nowhere near the level you probably need to be at, like low 70s, so I was like, oh yeah, I’ll give it a go, just to get the experience.
“The more experience you get, the better you are.
“Then it was Oche180, put it on Twitter and then obviously the Madheads, the Dart Furys went mental.
“I just absolutely love darts. So, I could compare it to football. It’s like if Man United put on a training session where you could go and train as a Man United player.
“But you had to pay to get in, I’d go and do it for the experience.”
