GLEN DURRANT reckons Luke Littler’s defeat to Michael van Gerwen was the greatest-ever game in the Premier League.

The teen sensation lost to MVG in a last leg decider in Belfast with the second-highest losing average of 113.91 in the history of the league.

Three-times Lakeside world champ Durrant believes it’s the best clash he’s ever seen in the 20-years of the competition.

Defending champion Littler next faces Rob Cross at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow on Thursday night.

But Durrant said: “I can’t think of a better game I’ve seen in a best of 11 game at the Premier League.

“It was absolutely incredible. We were watching it in the media room, it was breathtaking. Great to see Michael van Gerwen doing that.

“The reaction. But there was a lot of respect between them as well. It’s been an interesting couple of days. But just a real magic game, it really was. A nice touch there from the champ.

“I think he’s (Littler) lost four games this year and his worst average has been 105. You’ve got to play well to beat Luke. Just a beautiful game.”

The highest losing average in the Premier League was achieved by Phil Taylor. He hit a 115.8 in a defeat to Raymond van Barneveld in 2015.
