PDC CLARIFIES SETUP OF PRACTICE FACILITIES AFTER WATTIMENA COMMENTS

The PDC have responded to Jermaine Wattimena’s comments over the lack of practice facilities at the World Matchplay.
World No. 30 Wattimena claimed there was limited availability of dartboards at the Winter Gardens and questioned why players aren’t given better opportunities to warm up.
However, the PDC has now issued a statement defending its position and clarifying the logistical situation in Blackpool.
The PDC said: “We provide six practice boards across two separate rooms which are available to players ahead of and during the sessions in which they are playing, and at specified times on days when they are not competing.
“Due to the nature of Blackpool with players staying across multiple different accommodation, we do not provide practice boards at hotels and we have not done so for many years.
“These details were communicated clearly to all players in advance of the event.”
