Nathan Aspinall has won two PDC major titles. He has finished as runner-up at four other major events: the 2020 Premier League, 2022 World Grand Prix, 2022 Grand Slam and 2023 World Series Finals. Aspinall reached a peak ranking of world number four in 2024. The Stockport thrower played semi-professional football as a goalkeeper, having once been scouted by Manchester United’s academy. He was offered a deal by Rangers but turned it down as his family did not want to move to Scotland. ‘The Asp’ is known for his intense focus, high energy, and fiery determination. He has a never-give-up attitude and plays with a raw competitive edge, often letting his emotions show during high-stakes matches. Aspinall’s passion for the game is evident in his body language, whether he’s fist-pumping after a big score or showing his frustration after a missed dart. He isn’t afraid to engage with the crowd and has become known for his charismatic and confident presence, which adds to his appeal as a fan favourite. The 33-year-old has a roulette wheel and the words “Life a gamble” tattooed on his arm to show his humble beginnings. Prior to reaching his first ever World Championship semi-final in 2019, Aspinall only had £20.00 in his bank account and was close to walking away from the sport. Fast forward to 2025 he is now one of the biggest stars in the sport.
