Gerwyn Price revealed the secret of how he has beaten Luke Littler in six consecutive matches.
‘The Iceman’ defeated Ryan Searle in round two of the European Darts Trophy.
World No. 10 Price averaged 103 and hit a sensational 167 checkout in a 6-4 win against ‘Heavymetal’.
Searle put on a stellar display in defeat averaging over 105.
Following his victory the Welsh thrower was told he had beaten Searle for a sixth successive match.
Price admitted he does not look at head-to-head records in the lead up to his matches and just concentrates on his own game which is why he has been able to beat ‘The Nuke’ so often.
He said: “Six on the spin. You sure his name is not Luke [Littler]?
“I’m only joking! I don’t look at how many times I’ve beat players.
“I get up here and play every player the exact same.
“That is why I have beat Luke [Littler] so often.
“I just get up here and concentrate on my own game.
“If the crowd are behind me like they are today it’s brilliant and I end up winning matches.”
Elsewhere Gary Anderson beat Luke Woodhouse 6-4 to enter round three in Göttingen.
Former World Champion Anderson came back from 3-0 down to record his first European Tour victory of the year.
‘The Flying Scotsman’ hit a brilliant 120 checkout and averaged 95.11 to defeat ‘Woody’.
