PHIL TAYLOR believes this year’s Premier League is one of the best he’s ever seen.

The 16-time world champion, who retired from the PDC circuit in 2018, has been closely following the 2025 campaign.

And ‘The Power’ was full of praise after Night 10 in Manchester.

Nathan Aspinall claimed his first nightly win of the season with a 6–4 victory over world number one Luke Humphries at the AO Arena.

Taylor said in a video for BetGoodwin: “What a Thursday last Thursday was!

“Nathan Aspinall, Gerwyn Price… it can’t get any better than this.

“It’s unbelievable. This is probably one of the best Premier Leagues I’ve seen.”

Two-time major winner Aspinall’s triumph came just days after he finished runner-up at the International Darts Open.

‘The Asp’ has claimed his first Euro Tour title after winning the European Darts Trophy last month and made his first Players Championship event final since August 2022 yesterday (Monday) at Rosmalen.

Former world No. 1 Taylor spoke highly of the Stockport ace.

Taylor added: “Nathan Aspinall, I haven’t got a hat on, otherwise, I’d take it off.

“What a man! To come through, and after the weekend before as well, I thought he might have been a little bit shattered – but he wasn’t.

“He fought and he fought and he fought.

“I can’t fault the lad. His ability to win is second to none. He’s probably one of the best winners I’ve ever seen.

“But with the Premier League – who knows what is going to happen this week.”

Elsewhere on Night 10, Gerwyn Price hit a nine-darter – the fourth of this year’s competition – but lost to Luke Littler in a high-quality match.

The Premier League returns this Thursday with Night 11 in Rotterdam.

Home favourite Michael van Gerwen will face Stephen Bunting in the quarter-finals at the Ahoy Arena.
