WADE SNUBS WORLD SERIES FOR DISNEYLAND
11/08/2025 By Aaron Nijjar
JAMES WADE snubbed the World Series to go on a family holiday to Disneyland Paris.
‘The Machine’ turned down an invitation from the PDC for the first time.
World No. 5 Wade got the call-up after picking up his first senior title since 2022 at the Players Championship 19 and reaching TWO major finals this year.
10-time major winner Wade admits he’s putting family and self-care first by skipping this weekend’s New Zealand Masters.
He said: “The first time I’ve ever turned down an invitation from the PDC was just a couple of weeks ago.
“I’d already booked a family holiday.
“As much as I want to go, I’m going to Disneyland Paris instead. I won’t put darts before my family.
“But for the last 20 years, I have put the PDC before James, before my family, and before relatives. I’ve done enough for them, I think.”
The 42-year-old took time off from the oche after earning a staggering £228,000 in prize money over the course of 2025.
Aldershot thrower Wade expressed his delight at jetting away to France.
He wrote on Facebook: “Morning all, we have had the best family holiday away at Disneyland Paris.
“Thanks for such a great time!! We all loved it and it was very well needed to spend some quality time with the family.”
