ASPINALL ADMITS THROW ISSUES HAVE RETURNED

NATHAN ASPINALL revealed he is battling problems with his throw again.
The Asp opened up on his struggles after beating Jim Long 6-4 and Ryan Searle 6-0 before losing to Rob Cross in the quarter-finals of the inaugural Slovak Open.
The World No16 has failed to progress beyond the fourth round on TV this year and aside from Players Championship One, has struggled for results on the ProTour.
Speaking after his victory over Long, Aspinall opened up on a recurring issue with his action.
He said: “I’ve not been playing very well of late. I was 5-1 up there. I started off very slow, then started playing really well, and then I started to struggle.
“Without you guys, I would have lost that, because I would have thrown the towel in.
“I think everyone can see tonight that I’ve got a bit of an issue again with my throw.
“I’m working very hard again to try and get rid of it.
“Honestly, it’s shit. It’s pissing me off.
“It’s come back. But with fans like you guys getting me through these tough moments, I’ll keep battling.”
Aspinall has previously spoken openly about dartitis affecting his release and is determined to overcome the latest setback.
The two-time major winner has shown flashes of his best form this season, highlighted by his German Darts Grand Prix triumph.
